Emergency Room Wait Times

The average emergency wait time could be as long as 56 minutes although I have heard some say it took hours before they were seen. A delay in care could cause serious reactions that may become fatal depending upon the emergency. Wheter patients have insurance or not is not an issue as to how long it takes to see a doctor. Is there a separate or third service appoarch? Depending upon a patients emergency;could there be a solution by separation groups and not so much a first come first service policy? As we all know the long term care patients need a bed even if they are labled as low-income residents.
Now we all know that overcrowded emergency rooms brings about time and insufficient hospital beds. Financially most hospitals can not afford to increase beds, nor can they provided nurses assigned to each bed.
Increased availability of ambulances may help if a patient can be stabilized and stay comfortable until doctors are ready to see them. This may depend upon EMTS and paramedics to prepare ambulances to return to the streets which ensures a timely turnaround. Early notifications of arriving patients will give staff time enough for preparations.
Do we have to change to a different structure or build upon the structure already in place? Strengthing managers and employees in providing EMS care with EMS training, budgeting and strategic planning is a start.
